But in all due seriousness, what do you guys think about M25’s new vector logo? I really wanted to hold off on sharing this until the hack was released, but I’d like to get some feedback before I finalize the design.

Yup! I can do a little more than just pixel art and chiptunes…I also dabble in vector art. If anyone’s interested in the Inkscape file (for printing and editing) go ahead and PM me.

One little suggestion…
Can you add like the sparkles or the sparkling effect around the world from the in game title screen to this logo?
I have the feeling it would stand out a lot more and it would be much more attractive that way.
That’s my only suggestion, the rest looks really neat

EDIT: Oh and do not make the earth/clouds part of the world be too blurry, a little bit more defined and you are ready to go!

I think the vector Earth is great… I just don’t like how the Earth is cut off by the 25th Anniversary logo. Is there any way to make the Earth show behind the logo?

Silly new words aside, if you could make the “25th” transparent or something like that so the earth doesn’t look cut, it’d be nice.

It’s not really necessary, though, I already like it as it looks!

It would look 10x more official if you made the Earth look like this or this. Good luck finding a vector of that, though.

Final day before my internet bugs out and changes. Anyway, now that I have things about done, I’m actually replaying the game finding some more bugs. To be honest, I really can’t find anymore bugs other than the few I’ve found in the first playthrough. Still finding a few graphic errors though.. Dragon, I’ll send you all of the screenshots that I have of these bugs as soon as the second bug-run is through, which will be completed in a day or two. Sorry if I’m being too slow..

Hey, GF2014, word to the wise if you’re internet’s going down:

During M25 development (about last month) my internet was down as well. But I did manage to squeak by using my phone’s internet. If you have one, hook up your phone to your computer via a USB cord and turn on the wireless data of your phone. Then, you should be able to move files from your computer to your phone and send them to me via PM on your phone’s internet. It’s a really weird way to do things, but if you end up finishing testing while your internet’s down it’s the best we can do.

First, I fixed the “v” to look less like a lowerase u. Then, I completely redrew the globe with bezier nodes because freehand nodes are such a freakin’ pain. I used colors closer to the low-res logo and didn’t cut off the bottom of the globe this time.

I’m aware the logo would look a lot better if I used a “Blue Marble” photo or the official Mother globe, but I like to avoid mixing bitmap and vector graphics.

I am very happy with that one, to me that is the definitive one

Due to difficulties with beta-testing, I’ve had to offset the release of Mother: 25th Anniversary Edition by two weeks. To resolve this, I’ve decided to start anew and find a new beta-tester. DragonBlade318 (A good off-site friend of mine) will now be beta-testing the game. He’s great at JRPGs and is quite active on the internet, so I expect things will go much more smoothly now.

So with that settled, I’m going to give a release date for the game. I will be submitting M25 to ROMHacking.net on Wednesday, November 5th. After that, the game will go through RHDN’s approval process for 1-2 days and it will then be released. Even I won’t know when it will be out! How exciting!

In other news, I’ve talked with Buck Fever and have finished setting up the Kraken contest. The Great Kraken Hunt will begin on the same day M25 is approved on RHDN.

My internet is back on and I did what I needed to accomplish and I did. Thanks Dragon for letting me test it. I found only what I messaged you and nothing more while I was out. Who knows? It took me two runs of the hack to find the very few glitches, so who knows if any others are even present. :p Sorry for the inconvenience guys, I really did try my best to do this a little faster, but it seems that my personal life got in the way with a few things (No internet was a major problem too). I double checked the hack and nothing was found, so… I hope the new tester can help more than I could!

Even so, I find it great that you took the effort to make two runs of the hack and researched most areas to fibd glitches, that way the final product would be top notch!

With this I will finally experience the whole Mother series for the first time, from the first one to Mother 3.
I have only played the beginning of each game, but with the release of this hack I am ready to enjoy one of the most innovative and cherished RPGs ever made in all its glory all the way through!

And why? Well…I’ve put a lot of thought into it, and I’ve decided that M25 is finished as-is. My original intention with the project was to make Earthbound Zero more enjoyable for newcomers to the series, and according to how much my Beta-testers enjoyed the game, that’s been accomplished. There’s also the fact that ROM hacking is a very restrictive art, and I’m constantly having to dilute my ideas because they either require ASM Hacking or aren’t possible at all.

But don’t worry…I have bigger, better things in store.
