Mine's a little slow...but I should have them mailed soon, at least I'll make the second deadline Razz

. But it's better than nothing, right? I've been lurking around Starmen dot net for almost a year and a half now, figured it was high time I actually DID something for the site.

Here's my first one unfolded, I'll take pictures of them folded up once I have more than just one done. Kinda time consuming considering I'm making the envelopes too. @_@

I'm not sure what else to do one of ...oh well I'll figure that out. I started a pajama Ness in Magicant, but past that I'm at a loss. I haven't delved to deep in M3 material either seeing as I haven't played it (don't speak Japones.) But if anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear it.

Hey, I was thinking maybe we should take a Super Nintendo in a neatly designed box with a copy of Earthbound and write "to Reggie" on the box and throw it in with the siege and mail it to Nintendo. I'd even donate a copy of Earthbound and an SNES.

I dont think that is a good idea because...

1. Reggie already knows about Earthbound/MOTHER 3 and has said so publicly

2. Its highly unlikely that they would actually forward it to him, as hes the president of NOA and very busy and likely already swarmed with fan mail

3. Reggie publicly stated that he knows about Mother3.Org's translation project and Starmen.Net's Do it Yourself Devotion, yet has chosen not to launch the C&D missles, so lets try not to annoy Reggie too much if we can avoid it Cool

I'm aware of that article. But with the size of the siege and whatnot there is a much better chance.

My sister sent her envelope along with it. It's got the Bubble Monkey riding Tessie on it. I think she might have been a member here at some point in the past... I'm not sure, though.

I thought I'd share a bad experience that I went through to finish and send my letters.

I had no idea when I started that they would take so long. I did one for each game; they're all a set with the grey Mother titles and Starmen logo, and that symbolic red background. I didn't even sketch beforehand, I just drew the characters with a fine purplish pen (A Starman, Ninten, Ana and Loid for Mother, Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo for Mother 2, and

Anyway, I ended up putting more work in than I thought I would, and I misjudged how long it would take to colour them especially--the shading is simple compared to most of my computer art, but it took longer to do. Even to just slap on a neat single shade of one colour takes a long time with coloured pencils. I wanted them to look really nice and send the message that I really care for these games with all of my heart.

So, last saterday I was rushing to finish the Mother 3 envelope, the last that I had to. All three letters and the other two envelopes were finished, but Saterday was my due-date to send them, and I had to end up sending them express so that they'd get there on time. By the time I finished colouring the red background of the Mother 3 envelope, which I rushed and my hand was shaking terribley through, I was having a panic attack because it was 5 PM and the post office closes in between 5 and 5:30 PM. So I threw on what I could and hurried down there, and sent them off... by the time I went to leave the post office the door was already locked and the person working at the front desk had to unlock it for me so I could leave.

I really went through a lot to finish my envelopes and send them. I'm therefore disappointed that my panic and stress was in vain with this new due date. I think, if you're going to change a due date, it'd be more sensible to announce the change earlier, and perhaps on the front page.. but, oh well. I'm glad I got it over with, but, I'm sad to have had to use that money when I didn't have too--you see, I'm pretty poor. I don't have money to be throwing around, I only did that because I put at least 20 hours into those envelopes, and my effort being wasted would have been terrible. And I care about the Mother series tha tmuch.

Ah, so.. yes. There's my envelope story. I can't wait to see them scanned, since I didn't have a scanner to scan them with.

Ok I finally went through all the packages yesterday and I must say, OMG!!

I have received over 100 pieces of art, 130 to be exact. I have had my mail box full everyday this past week!

EVERYONE's Entry is equally awesome and chunk full of EarthBound!

I seriously want to comment on every piece of art and may eventually, but all of this is AMAZING and you should not be discourage if I didnt talk about the art. I am VERY impressed by every effort so far and this is turning out to be THE BEST EVER letter art siege I have EVER SEEN!!! I honestly can not wait to see all the expressions from the people at Nintendo when I go there! It is gonna be awesome! Very Happy

That PK Mailin was a great idea, man. The VC one was well executed too, though maybe a background would have been nice. I can't say much about the M3 ones, as I haven't played the game yet, but the art is really good on all 4.

Thanks for the comments! A background would have been nice if I hadn't run out of time (I'm leaving town tomorrow, I forgot to mention). I was going for a bit of minimalism (It would make more sense if I had taken the time to take a photo of the layout of the letter, but alas, I'm stupid) but I guess I should have at least put a shadow. ¯\(o_O)/¯

AFAIK, you put those envelopes into another envelop, on which you stamp and address for sending.
