Starmen.Net

Every year Starmen.Net holds a convention in a different part of the United States, and each year it gets a little bigger as we learn to manage more people. This year’s convention (which is currently underway) has fewer than 40 attendees, but it’s still a huge undertaking.

Despite this, we’d love to invite more people, so recently we’ve been thinking about opening it up in a different way. This year we’ve decided to have a ‘subcon’ where we’ll meet up with anyone who wants to join us for a few hours.

Starmen.Net Subcon 2008

• Where: Chicago’s Millennium Park, near the Giant Aluminum Pork Bean. Check out our huge Subcon Google Map for all the time/place/event information you can eat.
• When: 1:30 PM CST tomorrow (Thursday) July 17, 2008.
• What: Wiffleball | Football | Kickball… and not just on the Wii, in real-life! We might also head to the Art Institute and then get some food at Gino’s East (the best deep dish pizza in Chicago).
• Who: There are probably going to be 30 or 35 Starmen.Net nerds there. Anyone and everyone who wants to join us is welcome! Vampires and people younger than 18 should first ensure that their parents are down with meeting invisible people from the internet, though.
• Why: section missing
• How: Get yourself to Chicago by 1:30 PM. We’ll probably be done at/around 10 PM, so you’ll want to get yourself back home or to a hotel at that time or earlier. Good times will be provided at the door for free. Or for a nominal fee if you appear to be loaded.

EDIT: Well it’s true, i live in Portugal and have have work to do here, i wish i could go, but it’s impossible to me.

I’m currently working on extremely experimental plans that would allow me to make this little adventure of yours. Will update in a little while.

Well. I’d like to join this… and I would if I was about 5 years older, and able to get to Chicago in a few hours from now.

Which, if I were rich and grown-up, would still take too long to get to the con in time anyway.

The plans have exploded, and I am out of miracles. I will not be able to make it after all. If there had just been one more day, I’d have made this work.

Come to Toledo Ohio! The Zoo is excellent, the art museums are great, Levis Commons is in a nearby city (It has an EBGames!) and um.. yeah.. plenty of malls and parks, too. It’s only like ten minutes from here But Chicago is too far.
