I wish Tomato would finish his EB/M2 comparison :<
I always thought the apple was that round central part of the devil’s machine, and Giygas used his own psychic powers to tap into it and see the future.
Music’s the only thing that makes sense anymore. Play it loud enough… and it keeps the demons at bay.
I bet that, whatever it is, it doesn’t really taste like apples.

Wait a second, am I promoting my own death?
So then Giovanni was wrong when he said you found out what the Apple was at the end of Magicant?

I guess he was wrong then. In this case, he claimed that the speech at the end of Magicant directly stated that the Apple of Enlightenment was a prophecy machine that was being used by the forces of evil.
At least now I know not to use that in arguments anymore.

I’ll try to find it.
But I’m pretty sure he said something like “people playing the English version missed out on this, because the Apple wasn’t supposed to be left a mystery”. I’ll try and find it, but I wish the search engine went back farther.
EDIT: Here.

The Apple of Enlightenment seems to me as though it is the Psychic Power itself, and tapping into it as a source of knowledge allows an ambitious, but powerful, psychic to learn of future events.
What do Idoun and the chief of the Tenda village have in common?
Beyond the Darkness!
In my vision of EarthBound, it’s just like a crystal ball, except it’s shaped like an apple – and Giygas sees Ness and co.’s victories in the crystal ball, which is what makes him so scared of Ness for most of the journey. And Ness probably reminds him of Ninten or something.

That quote about the Apple from Buzz buzz, was that what buzz buzz said or is that you speculating?? Because if buzz buzz said that exact quote im guessng it didn’t even exist…
Actually, going over my copies of Buzz Buzz’s speeches, I don’t think he ever mentioned the Apple of Enlightenment. He did talk about a legend that had been passed down from ancient times, but no mention of the phrase itself.

No, the only ones ever to mention it are Starman DX, Ness’s mind, and Porky.
Now that (part of) what Giovanni said is confirmed, I personally think it’s not really all that mysterious. It’s a prophecy-telling thing that Gyiyg has. Do we really need to know anything else?
