I was at the school library just now and I was sitting next to my friend. He was playing Mario Party 3 and I was just browsing Starmen.net and looking at some of the wonderful fan art you guys made! Then my friend looked over and said “Wow! Look at all that art. There’s an entire site devoted to the Mother series?” I happily responded “Yes!” Then he said:

“I can’t believe there are people out there who actually like that game.”

I just ignored him since he says stuff like that all the time. But when I got home, what he said really hit me, I don’t know why, but it did. It also made me think about something else he said a while back. I was talking to him about how Earthbound was rated the top most wanted game in Nintendo Power and how NP commented “Are you gonna take that Mario and Chronos fans?” and my friend said “Of course they’re surprised, nobody likes Earthbound.” sigh Maybe I’m going crazy but…maybe we aren’t as well known as we thought….

No, your friend is being a bit of a jerk. If you’re well-known as an EB fan, he’s probably doing it because he knows it’ll bug you. If he keeps up with a lot of the information he’s probably just another guy who’s completely sick of the devotion the site displayed over summer.

But don’t let it bug you that much! Just ‘cause you like it you shouldn’t be pulled down by other people’s opinions.

My friend knows near to nothing about Earthbound, all the things he knows about the series he learned from me.

No offense, but that’s just stupid if someone doesn’t realize that for a game to be #1 in a poll, people have to like it. Not that he’s necessarily stupid; that’s just a mistake he should have seen, but it’s funny.

To be on topic, I just make people like the nonbeliever feel insignificant. Using logic, since it got #1 in the vote, he’s nothing short of a fool for going right on to say “Well noone likes EB anyway.” Scoff at him and make his shortcomings apparent.

While the entire Mother series are awesome games,it’s clearly not a game for absolutely everyone. Phoenix Wright, Time hollow,Hotel Dusk, Trace memory, Animal Crossing, Endless ocean, Chrono Cross, Final fantasy VIII, Kingdom Hearts, Dynasty Warriers, Beyond the Beyond, Dragon quest 8 are other games that are not for everyone too, but there a lot of fun as well depending on what kind of person you are. It’s impossible to expect every person to like a particular game-and maybe your friend just isn’t ready for earthbound.

However,i’m pretty sure he’s just trying to bother you. Perhaps you should go overboard with your obsession to bother him though-say,cosplaying as an earthbound character and just accuse him of being gigyas or something.

Because Satanism and Scientology are businesses, in that they charge fees to join, while Christianity and Islam do not force you to pay up. Additionally, there is proof that Mohammed and Jesus both walked the earth at one point, but no such luck for Xenu.

I like it when theres historical proof in religions. It allows you to actually invision the things in The Bible (only religious book ive read) easier.

Heh, I know of nobody that likes/knows about EarthBound. And I’ve had not one ounce of success even capturing anybody’s attention with it. So it’s my own private love.
