These tips have been mentioned in other topics, but I wanted to centralize the good advice for easy access. The Fangamer/Starmen merchandise looks great, and the last thing any of those great designs should do is fade or crack up. Here are some laundry tips to keep ’em looking sharp, feel free to add your own:
- Cold/Cold washer cycles. Hot water will break up the prints on shirts and jackets more than cold water.
- Air Dry/Low Heat dryer cycle. Again, heat harms the goods (and uses a lot of energy!). The Air Dry cycle will result in wrinkles, so half a cycle with heat and half air may yield best results. Also consider hanging clothes out to dry. There is also the “Low Heat” cycle, intended for delicates and now your fangamer goods.
- Turn your clothes inside out! The agitators and friction of laundry machines will wear down the pattern on any shirt or jacket, so turn your article of clothing inside out to give the design a fighting chance. Also tie the hood strings of your hoodie into knots so the string doesn’t slide out separately.
- Use similar colors in load. This one is just common sense in laundry, but it’s worth mentioning. Keep your lights and darks separate to prevent dyes from mixing together.
- Take any buttons off your clothing before putting it in the dryer. Not only could they tear a hole in garments from bouncing around, but with enough heat, they could do worse.
- Order the correct size. Normally ordering tshirts and jackets off the internet is a no-brainer since there are only 4 basic sizes (S M L XL), but Fangamer prints through American Apparel, which means you want to order a size larger than usual. This is serious business — normally anything L will fit me, for example, but the XL Snow Wood hoodie fits just right. Others have committed the folly of ordering what seemed like their size and wound up wanting to trade back for something larger, and clothing shrinks after going through the laundry, so be very conscious of what size you order.

) My preferred method is to dunk it into a bathtub of warm water and swirl it around, but I live in a country with three-foot-long bathtubs, you guys might be better off using the tap or shower. Using a warm bath does keep it from being wrinkly. If you rinse in the same sink you washed it in, made sure no soap residue gets caught in it.
I’ve started hand-washing my favourite clothes, they keep way longer, even though it’s a bit of effort. You can definitely get a few wearings out of these between washes, though, if you’re wearing other clothes underneath and take care to clean away lint and whatnot. Good luck!

i never wear it >.<
