This didn't go so well last year, but what the hey: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
For the unfamiliar, National Novel Writing Month is basically a 30-day writing marathon. Starting November 1st and running until midnight, November 30th, you aim to write a 50000+ word novel. Or, at least, the first draft of one.
It sounds crazy, but it's also fun; as long as you stick with it. To help in that task, you can add your fellow writers to your friends list, and compete with them on progress.
I know it's kinda late warning, but is anyone interested in participating this year?
