Hello all! Last night I had my first solo show in my home town of Milton Ontario. It was a bit nerve-racking setting everything up, but as the night went on we all started to have a lot of fun and I sold a bunch of paintings.
The cool thing about this show is that I had a bunch of paintings I did that were inspired thru me playing video games, namely Earthbound. Because of this, we rented a bunch of projectors and blasted game-play from Mother 2+3 up on the outside of the Gallery right on the Main Street.

Here’s a small shot of me infront of one of the smaller sections on the wall outside.

It was a lot of fun and a lot of people showed up. It was great until some homless-shirtless dude showed up and started giving my DJ heck because of the noise…. I wish I got a picture of that.

Anyway- I didnt take any of the pictures because I was busy, but my buddy Sarah did and heres just a few of the images from the art show:

it was a lot of fun and it was cool playing earthbound and Mother 3 on a huge wall- we got lots of cars honking at us and we let a lot of the kids in the neighbourhood play too!

Man was I lucky the fan translation happened when it did!

There’s something about your landscape and cityscape work that I can’t quite put my finger on. It reminds me of a historical artist’s style, but the name escapes me.

That’s really awesome! Art shows are great, and I love going to them and I feel like you can really get the gist of the artist’s personality from all their works. But really, it’s great how the community could go play M3 in public and stuff, especially the English translation. It looked like a lot of fun!

Amazing!! Well done, it sounds like you really organised it well. Your art looks so cool all displayed like that, I especially love the landscape ones, they’re really striking. I have an exhibition next year ;_; I’m really scaaaared.

Quite nice. Great to see that you were able to pull off a that showing. It’s a bit of a rush/thrill/eep! feeling that you get from such things.

This was taken at around 10:30 at night before some shirtless tatooed skullett guy started complaining about the music we had on the street

Taken 5 minutes before we opened where I am very nervous with my partner in art crimes (and best buddy ever) Sarah Joncas. Sarah is an amazing artist and we’ve done a few shows together.

this paining is huge. It took me 3 months. It is also rather infamous as it’s been a lot of places and thru many diffrent political hands (it used to be in Garth Turner’s office) and I once took a nap on it when it was still wet and ended up having pink hair for a few days.

more blurry Mother 3 goodness. It was hard getting clean shots of the wall as it was at night and not too many of my friends know how to use a night-time flash right.

That is awesome! If I drove by Mother 3 being played on a wall, I would so end up crashing =P

It’d be awesome if you’d had the show (or another show) in Toronto! I’d definitely come over and freak out over the translation everywhere. For example: OMG!!! IT’S MOTHER 3 ON THE WALLS!!! MY DREAM COME TRUE!!! Yeah…
